Category Manager – Projects & Claims Role responsibilities: 

  • Develop relevant sourcing, contract management and claim strategies for new business areas
  • Leading of procurement initiatives in the area of Projects and Third Party Businesses, including tendering, negotiation, contract and claim management
  • Establishment of an integrated contract & claim management process for Procurement
  • First contact for Procurement colleagues regarding potential claims
  • Management of any contractual issues, whether active or passive claims
  • Responsibility for coordination and execution within international project procurement activities
  • Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders 


  • University degree
  • Relevant procurement expertise within energy or chemical industries preferred
  • Experience of Contract & Claim Management, with a proven track record
  • Experience with different contract set ups (e.g. EPC, FIDIC, contracts under German law…)
  • Strong negotiation and conflict management skills
  • Knowledge and experience in international large scale projects
  • Experience in stakeholder management
  • Hands-on mentality combined with a solution-orientated work style
  • Business fluency in English and German essential, knowledge of additional language would be an asset
  • High level of mobility
