Quality Assurance Operations Manager

Corsham, Wiltshire

Permanent Full Time - 37.5 hours per week

Our client is recruiting for an experienced quality assurance professional who can manage the day to day operations and inspire and develop the QA releasing and QC teams.

About you

They are looking for a dynamic, confident individual with a background of working within a Quality Assurance role. You should have a proven track record of working under GMP and be able to deliver on your knowledge and awareness of the principles of QA within a fast-paced environment. Previous experience of working within an aseptic and/or specials manufacturing environment would be desirable but not essential.

The successful candidate should be a registered a Pharmacist/Pharmacy Technician or Member of Royal Society of Chemistry/Royal Institute of Biology (or eligible) and have a degree in a science related discipline. A degree in management or a master's in science would be desirable but not essential as this could be part of your continued professional development.

They are looking for someone who is a very strong and clear communicator with excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to talk to and present to a range of audiences. You should be decisive and able to support your decisions. Diligence is key, along with organisational skills so that deadlines can be met. As well as having the ability to be able to support organisational change they are looking for someone who has a strategic approach to their work, has persistence and can influence others.

What will be expected of you

Be responsible for;

  • Ensuring that the products that they compound are fit for purpose and within quality standards
  • Contributing towards the performance of their quality management system

Your tasks will include, but are not exclusive to;

  • Managing the QA releasing and QC teams with regards to the daily operational requirements including rotas, holiday, sickness & absence, recruitment, training and induction to ensure both teams are adequately skilled, resourced and performance managed
  • Arranging/providing support in any rota system that operates within the QA Product release/ QC team to deliver their service commitments. Duties include but are not limited to Batch Release, Batch documentation review, Equipment Validation, Assays
  • Documentation control and maintenance. Ensure that SOPs are complied with and processes and procedures kept up to date
  • Produce and interpret regular reports against predetermined KPIs for the QA and QC teams for dissemination to the Head of Quality, Production Management, Managing Director and Audit/Risk Committee as appropriate
  • Ensure the timely investigation of complaints and deviations from the quality system, assign appropriate corrective actions, recommend preventative measures and measure their effectiveness
  • Participate in the out of hours rota system for monitoring the environmental status of the building and its equipment
  • The development of activities and policies aimed at improving the effectiveness and efficiency of the company's service provision
  • Undertake continuing professional development and attend any suitable training and update courses as deemed necessary and ensure a high level of competency is achieved
