Reed Procurement and Supply are exclusively working with an established UK wood cutting and power tool supplier who have exciting plans to continue strong growth and extend operations.

Based in the company's headquarters in Watford, the successful candidate will be responsible for an £11 million spend per annum and the operations division, comprising 45 staff. Building on recent growth, there is also the potential to achieve a discretionary bonus through exemplary delivery and achievement of profit goals.

Responsibilities will include:

- Overall responsibility for the supply chain function including procurement, assembly, dispatch and continuous improvement
- Implementing a new ERP system
- Ensuring the smooth running of the sales order processing, customer service and technical support teams
- Manage departmental budgets, ensuring best value and optimal pricing
- Driving performance of the operations division against devised KPI targets
- Management and development of direct reports
- Overall responsibility for the health and safety of the operational team
- Regularly updating key stakeholders on the performance of the supply chain function
- Delivering projects to agreed objectives, timescales and within budget

The company are seeking the following key experience, skills and qualifications:

- Previous experience in a senior operations role
- Demonstrable line management experience of developing and motivating a team
- Experience in problem solving at a high level
- Strategic leadership skills
- Skilled in international procurement and negotiation
- Skilled in contract and supplier relationship management
- Extremely numerate with the ability to manipulate large datasets
- Conversant with and able to develop ERP/MRP Systems
- Results oriented
- Excellent communication skills
- Working knowledge of health & safety
- Highly proficient in the use of Microsoft programmes including Excel and Access

A basic salary of £80K is payable with the potential to achieve a discretionary bonus. Additional company benefits include an £11K car allowance, a pension contribution of 10% of basic salary and free healthcare.
