Depot Manager - Requirements

  • Experience as Depot Manager or General Manager with both Warehouse and Transport
  • People and Health & Safety management
  • Proven track record of working to clearly defined service delivery KPIs
  • Delivering continuous improvement within an operational / service environment
  • Profit & Loss experience
  • Good transport / logistics knowledge
  • Knowledge of existing and impending environmental and health and safety legislation environment
  • Strong Commercial background
  • Experience of operational line management
  • Experience of managing in a labour intensive, multi-shift environment

Depot Manager - Responsibilities

  • Manage an Operational Depot ensuring Health & Safety, Environmental and O Licence compliance
  • Delivering first class customer service in line with pre-defined business KPIs
  • Monitor, manage and co-ordinate all depot based resources to ensure an increase in operational productivity
  • Ensure service delivery meets defined key performance indicators whilst driving best practice and continuous improvement in cost control and productivity.
  • Defines and supports the development of the drivers and warehouse staff
  • Agrees, monitors and manages the full depot P&L budget, delegating accountability where appropriate, supporting financial year on year growth of the depot
  • Work within cross-divisional teams to provide integrated solutions across the national network using best practice and through continuous improvement.
  • Support the growth of the Depots customer base.
  • Manage service levels and ensuring that corrective action is taken as appropriate.
  • Ensure legislator compliance at all times by all staff
  • Analyses training needs for all staff ensuring that training complies with company policy and is monitored
