Warehouse Manager - New English Teas Ltd.

Job Description

New English Teas (NET) is a highly successful supplier of gift teas. It presently operates in the business to business (B2B) market all around the world. It is a growing business with a small dedicated team based in Coventry.

This is a hands-on position based at the Coventry warehouse (CV5). The manager performs the bulk of all warehouse activities personally including picking, replenishment and despatch.

Objectives of the role

To ensure excellent, accurate and safe operational control of all warehouse activities on the site. To be responsible for all health and safety aspects of the warehouse, goods-in and goods-despatch. To deliver excellent customer service and a cost effective efficient operation.

Responsibilities

To plan the 8000 sq. ft. warehouse for bulk and picking bays to ensure the best use of available space. To plan the layout of the product labelling operation and emerging e-commerce storage and picking operations.

To pick products accurately and cost effectively in line with detailed customer requirements. To ensure in-bound containers are unloaded and stored correctly in line with Health and Safety requirements. To maintain sundry warehouse items and achieve the highest levels of cleanliness.

To effectively manage the part-time assistants and agency staff.

To work closely with a small business team to ensure very good communication and co-operation provides excellent overall customer service.

The role will suit a skilful and experienced supervisor / manager looking to run their own operation who is happy to spend most of their time hands on picking and packing

Personal Characteristics and Experience:

The successful person should have significant warehouse experience (probably over 10 years) and be capable of running all aspects of their own operation. They should have an FLT licence, a knowledge of developing risk assessments and method statements, some small business experience, a good operational knowledge of I.T. and warehouse management systems.

Attention to detail is very important as many customers have detailed specific requirements.

The person must be self-motivated, hard-working, capable of self-management, and able to work closely with a small team.

Qualifications

The person must have an FLT licence

The person must be capable of using all basic computing packages including Microsoft office, excel etc. knowledge of sage packages would be useful.

Mathematical and literacy knowledge should be in line with the calculations and communication required with the role.

Package and details

Location: Coventry

Hours: 08.30 to 17.00 Monday to Friday - extra hours as required for the role

Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, pension contributions matched up to 5% of salary, bonus up to 30% of salary.
