Play a key role in driving change through operational improvements and team development.

Cambridgeshire, A1 corridor based with broad geographic travel

Attractive base salary, bonus, car and benefits

Ref: L10862

This is a new key role following the continued growth and development of this highly successful privately owned and acquisitive supplier to the takeaway, fast food, restaurant and catering marketplaces. It has a network of 7 depots each with their own distinct management teams, challenges and opportunities.  It owns a large fleet of vehicles, has a growing customer base of

c 4,500, in excess of 2,500 SKU’s and an excellent reputation for quality and reliability. There is a mix of new and established teams across the network and there is a real opportunity to improve the levels of effectiveness at each depot.

Working closely with the Board and reporting to the Head of Operations, the focus of this role will be to ensure that depot operations are aligned and work to the same set of KPI’s, to imbed a culture of continuous improvement and to set a high bar from which they can all operate, whilst also making cost savings and better use of resources.

The head office is in the Cambridgeshire corridor/A1 region at which there is a significant depot and initially the priority will be to focus on the head office depot in order to set a benchmark for the right processes and operational improvements to be rolled out across the network. There is a high degree of warehouse systems and processes in place and significant opportunities to reduce wastage, overtime and to coach and mentor the teams in place.

A high calibre candidate on an upward trajectory in their career is required. You are likely to be graduate qualified with an impressive background in warehousing and distribution and have a particular strength in warehousing systems. Your formative training will have been in a world-class warehousing/distribution group and you will relish the opportunity of making you mark and delivering performance improvements and change in an ambitious SME such as this. It is important that you have strong team leadership and coaching skills, enjoy bringing teams on and importantly you will also need a strong grasp of modern warehousing IT systems and processes.

The Company offers excellent career prospects and is looking to make this a long term appointment.  You will be expected to live in a reasonable commute of the head office and comfortable also with the travel aspects of this role.
