Plant Buyer (horticulture) - New Forest Outskirts SO40 - £45,000

As a Plant Buyer, you will responsible for resourcing and managing ranges of an agricultural nature. You will be tasked at agreeing terms and pricing with suppliers, in order to maximise sales and profitability.

Duties for the Plant Buyer:

• Manage all plant stock from supplier to customer ensuring the highest quality standards, while maximising sales and minimising wastage to achieve budgeted margins.
• Build strong relationships with suppliers to ensure best pricing, best quality, consistent availability and access to new and exclusive lines when possible.
• Build strong working relationships with operational teams - regional managers, PA managers - to ensure consistent quality of offer and service throughout the company.
• Manage day to day maintenance of stock files to ensure smooth running of operations
• Work with wider Head Office team and Marketing department to ensure all promotional literature, magazines and event planning is 100% accurate and to the highest quality standards.
• Responsible for agreeing ranges, timings, promotions, pricing and where required
• Responsible for agreeing suitable rebate terms with suppliers where applicable.
• Analysing sales on a weekly, monthly and annual basis, reporting back to wider management team and proposing short, medium and long-term actions and strategies to drive growth in line with budgeted requirements.
• Communicating supplier availability and stock levels to facilitate effective management of stock at centre level.
• Responsible for central purchase of suitable containers for added value at key times of year to maintain cohesive range across multiple suppliers.
