As a Procurement Advisor it is all about demonstrating best value for money for customers. You will be expected to deliver day to day procurement services and advice as well as run from start to finish the delivery of allocated procurement projects. Customer relationship management is critical to ensure ongoing success as is the ability to think commercially.

This consultancy are working with 900 schools across the UK in order to save them money on their indirect spend. You will be providing advice on money saving activities and consulting to schools nationwide. This organisation has been awarded best Schools Procurement business three times by Education Investor, and has saved schools and trusts millions of pounds through advising on catering, cleaning, ICT, MFDs, energy, FM, construction, HR & payroll.

Key Responsibilities:

• To undertake the scoping, tender and specification development, tender management, evaluation, placement and monitoring of a portfolio of public sector contracts using an e-procurement platform.

• To procure appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with due regard to client priorities, ethical purchasing standards and whole of life costing.

• To scrutinise project and supplier data, identifying risks and concerns. Raising client concerns and project risks early. Proposing and implementing solutions and seeking advice where necessary.

• To manage the commercial administration of each project that you are assigned, with awareness of project budgets and profitability.

Procurement experience in the public sector as well as some commercial private sector experience is preferable, however, candidates from both backgrounds will be considered. OJEU experience is essential together with a CIPS qualification and a degree would be desirable.

It is also important that you have customer and supplier relationship management skills a good amount of commercial acumen and a highly agile approach to delivering multiple concurrent projects.
