An exciting role for a category manager has become available with leading business in Birmingham, the company are well established with a strong history of providing the best service within their sector.

Due to company growth and re-structure they are looking to add experienced individuals into the business at management level to mange a small team and a specific categories.

Category manager

Birmingham

Salary up to £50,000 per annum (plus a range of benefits)

The main purpose of the role is to put in place national agreements, to ensure best pricing and contract terms and conditions.

Main duties

  • Produce tender documents, valuations, right through to contract award
  • Manage supplier relationships during the sourcing process
  • Manage the negotiations with suppliers
  • Manage stakeholders and ensure they are up to date on any current negotiations
  • Communicate the bid process so suppliers are aware of current status and concerns
  • Team management - ensure the team is supported and development plans are put in place

What is required?

  • Strong experience in procurement where you have done contract management is essential from pre-contract to contract award
  • Exposure or knowledge of OJEU or commercial contracting
  • Experience in strategic sourcing
  • Experience negotiating a variety of contracts
  • Strong people management skills
  • Highly organised
