New position available in central Horsham for an established procurement professional with experience of managing supply chain at a strategic level. The focus of this position is to to be responsible for working towards a departmental annual target of £50,000 tangiable and £50,000 intangible cost savings generated through the proactive involvement of the department and from process changes.
Hours of work for this role will be Monday - Friday 9am - 5.30pm with 23 days holiday + 8 bank holidays. Free parking on site. This role is due to commence as soon as possible, although notice periods may be taken into account .
Duties involved in the role will include:
- Responsibility for setting the purchasing strategy based on corporate strategy, suppliers' market and business needs
- Lead the way to source the best quality suppliers at the best price
- Oversee the performance of suppliers at C Level (contract implementation, performance and innovation)
- Build the tools, process and indicators to value to savings and benefits delivered
- Conduct risk management for supply contracts and ensure that there are robust contingency plans in place for critical items
- Performs cost and scenario analysis and bench marking
- Ensure accurate reporting of Procurement KPI's
- Advise, review and negotiate and draft legal documents, whilst managing a large and varied workload and engaging with senior stakeholders
In order to be successful in this role, you must have the following skills/experience:
- Ideally you will have experience and expertise in Purchasing Information Systems & Technology contracts and supplies including successful design and implantation of strategies
- Ideally, you will have experience of negotiating and managing Software, Unified Comms and Data Centre contracts
- Knowledge of procurement principles , theories and processes
- Effective leadership, technology expertise and project management skills
- Ability to problem solve problems and provide innovative solutions/analytical ability
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Good financial management
- CIPS qualification highly desirable
