Buyer

We are recruiting for a Buyer for our FMCG client that are in a process of growth and development, it is an exciting time to join a great team of professionals. We are looking for an experienced Buyer that has previously worked for an FMCG cpmpany and is used to working in a fast paced, dynamic environment.

Working alongside the Purchasing Manager, you will be responsible for the procurement of packaging and raw materials for new and existing products.

Specific Areas of Responsibility:-

• Negotiate pricing and payment terms with suppliers
• Obtain quotes and ensure system pricing is accurate and up to date
• Assist with the identification of potential suppliers
• Drive cost reduction whilst maintaining high service levels
• Develop existing and new processes to support purchasing strategies
• Raise and send Purchase Orders as required
• Expedite Purchase Orders where required
• Calculate and maintain accurate stock levels
• Assist in investigating and solving non-conforming delivery queries
• Develop strong supplier relationships and collaborative ways of working
• Drive the monitoring and development of vendor performance
• Monitor Booking In with warehouse
• Maintain and develop OTIF report
• Other purchasing tasks as required by the Supply Manager / Purchasing Manager

Skills Required:-

• Energetic and passionate with a flexible approach to business demands
• Able to multi task, work across several projects
• Familiar with the demands of an FMCG environment
• Organised and thorough, attention to detail is key
• Proficient in Excel and with some knowledge of MRP/ERP systems
• Strong communication skills
