A new and exciting opportunity for an Operational Project Delivery Manager with a technical/engineering background in rail. Field based, managing own diary and using a blend of skills including relationship development, project coordination, demand and supply chain management to ensure all project work and activities provided for customers are carried out to the highest standard to maintain customer satisfaction and business optimization.

The Operational Project Delivery Manager role:

Managing your own diary and visiting customers UK wide, the role is mostly field based, but with a strong link to the hub (working in the office one day a week when local). Reporting to the Senior Contracts Manager, you will focus on the smooth operation of supply chain, understanding the impact of material delays on customer satisfaction, ensuring operational stability and customer relationships whilst working to expand and improve in all service areas including availability, procedures, standards and policies within the company and industry guidelines.

Key activities will include:

Develop relationships with depot teams to understand product and customers’ requirements.

Ensuring the agreed stocks are available at all times.

Ensuring overhaul programs are understood and acceptable.

Ensuring HSE and product standards are maintained.

Develop relationships with Customer Management teams (operational, technical and procurement).

Support the Contract Managers in successful delivery of key customer contracts being pivotal to the CRM process.

Support the Innovations Project Delivery Manager to deliver new products and services to Freight customers and grow business opportunities.

Liaise with technical teams to ensure all technical requirements are met and changes are managed appropriately

Close liaison with operational staff to ensure product overhauls are carried out in line with demand and stock requirements.

As well as an understanding of the UK traction & rolling stock market, the successful Operational Project Delivery Manager will be able to demonstrate:

Experience of building strong relationships with customers and suppliers

Operational project management experience along with supervisory/managerial skills

Operational technical knowledge gained within the UK rail industry or similar particularly a materials/product role

Analytical and reporting skills and the ability to conduct and present well at stakeholder meetings
