Junior Buyer
About the Employer
We are helping a specialist Building Contractor who work on Residential & Commercial projects.
Due to continued growth they are looking to bring in a Junior Buyer into the team.
Their office is based near Dartford, Kent.
About the Role
The position on offer provides the successful candidate with an opportunity to work in a busy Procurement Department of a multimillion-pound business.
The main role will be to purchase materials, works and services for the building projects in the most effective way on time, taking in to account the budget and quality of materials.
Working on delivery notes and quality checks, supplier information management, procurement logs and updating site team.
Ideal Candidate
- Some experience in procurement within the Construction Industry of site-based materials, plant and services.
- Strong background in construction with a good knowledge of procurement.
- Degree or HND in construction preferred however not essential.
- Ability to understand technical drawings
- CIPS accredited is an advantage but not essential.
- Organised, motivated, reliable, and able to self-manage and work well with others and has a keen commercial business sense.
- Excellent computer skills and communication skills.
Requirements
- Sourcing and ordering materials, subcontractor quotes hired in plant and site services.
- Logistical planning of deliveries and services to accommodate the site management teams.
- Identifying and negotiating cost down opportunities within our supply chain.
- Source new suppliers and maintain our existing suppliers and subcontractor’s data base
- Ensuring site managers are sufficiently briefed
- Understanding business objectives and how procurement affects it.
This is an excellent opportunity to work with an established contractor as they continue to expand.
Salary is negotiable (depending on experience) and in the region of £25,000 - £35,000 plus benefits package depending on experience.
