£26,000 to £30,000 plus benefits
Our client is a machine tool specialist supplying worldwide. As part of a planned development, we have been asked to source a buyer / expeditor who will assist the purchasing manager with the following role:
The role:
To purchase stock and services to specification
Issue supply requests for quotation
Expedite to ensure stock and services are delivered to date and specification for production
Continuously improve LEAD techniques to remove cost, improve efficiency and quality
Process all data to cover orders, costs and requisition accordingly
Continuously evaluate all suppliers and gain the best possible prices
Work towards greater stock turn and reduced inventory
Manage supplier queries and change to schedule and quote
Organise and manage all 3rd party transport
Suitable applicants:
Will have purchasing / expediting experience, ideally within manufacturing
Will have a strong attention to detail
Will be a strong communicator who is happy negotiating and managing the supply chain
Be organised, proactive and reactive, happy working to order and production requirements, adjusting schedules as required
Be numerate and accurate with cost and purchasing details.
Will be happy managing quotes for evaluation
