A global Aerospace Defence technology and production engineering business is currently recruiting 2X Commercial Contracts Manager to join their very successful and expanding business on a permanent basis.

The Commercial Contracts Manager will be responsible to actively lead and support the winning and delivery of profitable business and provide commercial support and governance to the business by ensuring the company contracts with customers and suppliers on terms that protect the business.

Role - Commercial Contracts Manager - Defence X2

Type - Permanent position

Salary - £45,000 - £60,000 (DOE) + Benefits

Location - Stevenage, Hertfordshire

Experience working in the Aerospace and/or Defence industry is preferred however, applicants will be considered from all technical manufacturing / engineering industries.

Key responsibilities for Commercial Contracts Manager job role and not limited to:

  • Provide the commercial and contractual interface to external customers and suppliers and internal departments including, financial, project control, legal and insurance and senior management with the support and guidance of the Commercial Manager
  • Undertake defined commercial and contracts role in respect of the selection of subcontractors (produce commercial documentation for invitation to tenders, participate in tender evaluations, negotiation meetings and placement of subcontracts with winning tenderers)
  • Negotiate and implement contracts, sub-contracts and contract changes, including the negotiation of price and related matters
  • Responsible for the reporting and management of commercial/contractual risks and opportunities within relevant Proposals and Contracts
  • Support the technical departments (projects) concerning all contractual issues.
  • Analyse, review and prepare the financial and contractual part of proposals, as directed, for institutional and commercial customers, national and international.
  • Manage and directs the commercial /contractual matters during the bid phase including issuance of RFPs to potential subcontractors/suppliers
  • Identify commercial and contractual conditions favourable for the company and secure their implementation
  • Observe compliance with legal requirements and internal regulations (code of conduct)
  • Complete and finalise the proposal documentation and deliver the entire offer in due time to customer
  • Review, create and negotiate contractual documentation (non-disclosure agreements) cooperation agreements, license agreements, procurement contracts, subcontracts etc.)
  • Preparation of documentation for internal approval of proposals/ contracts.

Key skills and experience required for Commercial Contracts Manager role and not limited to:

  • Proven experience within a Commercial and/or Contract management orientated role
  • Working knowledge of contracts and standard contracting terms for supply of goods and services
  • Eligible to gain UK MOD SC Clearance
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
