To oversee the day to day running of both the warehouse logistics operation and customer onsite logistics as follows:

  • To ensure outgoing orders are planned for delivery in a timely manner.
  • To liaise with the warehouse operations team with regard to loading times of vehicles etc.
  • To ensure all customer requirements are fulfilled to the best of the department's ability.
  • To ensure any work that is to be sub contracted is done so in a timely manner and the warehouse operations team informed.
  • To assist the operations manager in ensuring health and safety and legal compliance within the logistic side of the operation.
  • To assist the operations manager in ensuring legal compliance of all drivers.
  • To liaise with the warehouse manager and repack/sample despatch manager to ensure any cross-departmental operations are carried out as efficiently as possible.
  • To prioritise workload.
  • To report any near misses and or incidents using the relevant system, and to help the health and safety manager carry out any investigations.
  • To ensure the most cost effective running of the logistics operation without compromising health and safety or customer requests.
  • To ensure all drivers paperwork and check sheets are filled in correctly.
  • To oversee all drivers holidays ensuring that everyone takes their full entitlement (unless authorised to take additional) and no more, in any twelve month period running from January 1st to December 31st.
  • To ensure holidays are allocated on a first come first served basis and that no more people are given authorisation for holidays at the same time, than is operationally viable, save for exceptional circumstances.
  • To monitor levels of on-site fuel tank and re-order when necessary ensuring that we don't run out.

Customer Role:

  • Log into customer SAP system to process orders.
  • Liaise with various plants and warehouse to ship goods.
  • Book transport with hauliers.
  • Monitor stock levels at production plants.
  • Arrange transport of goods between plants and warehouse.
  • Produce paperwork for orders.
  • Stock management.
  • Label management.
  • Respond to customer queries in a timely manner.
  • Conference calls and meetings with customers.
  • Supervise the loading of special shipments direct from plant.

Accountabilities

The logistics coordinator shall report to the operations manager. You must report immediately or as soon as is practical any of the following:

  • Any incident or accident leading to the injury of drivers or members of the public.
  • Any incident involving damage to company property.
  • Any breach of health and safety or legal regulations.
  • Seek prior approval before turning any vehicles away from site.
  • Seek prior approval before turning down a customer request, unless on grounds of health and safety.
