Over the past years the Cardinal Hume Centre has seen substantial growth in its impact. Based in Westminster we work hard for homeless young people, badly housed families and others in need. Last year over 1200 people used our different services including a specialist hostel for homeless young people.

We have made real improvements in recent years, but we know we face challenging times. In nearly all its forms, homelessness is increasing in Westminster. People face some of the highest housing costs in the country, a challenging labour market and rising levels of violent crime. Some of those we support come from care or broken relationships which can limit access to support which most of us luckily take for granted. Some are seeking asylum, safety and support in the UK.

Salary: £60,000 per annum

About the role:

Our response is far too important to be left to chance. We now need a new Director of Finance and Operations to play a leading role to ensure the Centre is fit for purpose, well organised and able to meet this challenge. You will join at a key stage as we develop a new strategy and business plan for 2020-23. We know it will involve change and you will help develop and implement plans that will ultimately benefit our clients and others needing our help. We want to develop a creative and strategic response that builds on our strengths and draws on the very best of our values and ethos.

About you:

Of course we need someone with the right financial experience and qualifications, but equally important is the ability to be an inspiring and insightful leader. We need someone led by values who can use detail to shape the bigger picture. A collaborative leader who can use their soft skills to draw out the individual qualities of the team.
