Port Agency Shipping Analyst : Global Trading and Shipping Co.

Start Date: ASAP

Rate: £25-35,000 per annum / up to £25 per hour Ltd Co

Duration: 6 - 12 Months Initially, long term prospects

World Leading Global Energy Trading Company has an exciting opportunity for a Port Agency Shipping Analyst to assist in the financial and operational administration of the Trading Port Agency network.

About the Role:
* Management of account approval, including resolution of outstanding amounts under query and working capital requirements.
* Monitor/control port costs incurred by tonnage operated within the network.
* Ensure accuracy of port cost estimates available to the stakeholders, to assist assessment of business opportunities.
* Perform regular auditing of supplier accounts.
* Maintain accurate counterparty details in Company Systems.
* Maintain Operational Manuals issuing updates as necessary.
* Be proactive in the management and monitoring of contractors to ensure operational targets are met.
* Deal and resolve first hand, on a day to day basis, operational queries from various stakeholders.
* Assist in the management of contracts - data analysis, tracking spend, KPI's and value improvement.
* Assist with Port Agent Registration procedures and assurance when necessary.

About You:
* Detail oriented individual educated to graduate level education
* Able to demonstrate initiative to learn quickly and adapt skills to support the challenges of the role
* Experience in shipping/agency/trading/accounts experience is beneficial but not critical.
* Strong command of English language, with clear and concise communication.
* Ability to work and think independently, with a strong aptitude for problem solving and delivering results.
* Experience in Business Integrity / Compliance and Customer due diligence would be beneficial.

This needs combining with a positive attitude and an ability to work within a large, globally dispersed project team in a multi-cultural environment. You also need to be a self-starter, a logical thinker and a quick learner, with strong initiative and excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, able to write clearly and concisely.
