We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join our clients British and European Road freight division responsible for covering the Midlands territory. As the Business Development Manager you will be responsible for proactively canvassing new business selling the core products of our overland road freight division and have the responsibility of developing and maintain profit from new accounts and development of existing business

Description

Business Development Manager - Road Freight division

  • Actively solicit business in a designated territory through external sales visits, where in there could be the requirement for client presentations
  • Assist and complete Tenders for nominated area
  • Understand the Customer needs and provide solutions which meet there requirement to close business
  • Responsible for completing SOP's and confirming with operations in order to support the solution provided to the Customer
  • Actively plan and co-ordinate your local area sales strategy, ensuring consistent and regular contact is maintained with existing and potential Customers.
  • Ensuring that operational and financial issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner
  • Be responsible for regularly recording all contact made with the Customer on the Customer Relationship Management tool - CRM, ensuring data integrity at all times

Profile

Business Development Manager - Road Freight division

  • Previous experience of working in a targeted new business environment
  • Minimum 3 years of European Road Freight/ Groupage Experience and knowledge is essential
  • Proven business to business, face to face sales experience
  • Experience of working to individual targets
  • Strong communication and inter-personal skills
  • High degree of organisational, administrative, communication skills and self-motivation
  • Full Driving Licence
  • Ideal locations would Northampton, Birmingham, Coventry or Leicester - Midlands travel
