My Client is looking for an experienced Buyer who can negotiate the best prices for the company, build good relationships with suppliers and is ambitious. The right candidate will need to drive the business Procurement Strategy, be on top of all purchasing, responsible for stock management and produce regular reporting for Senior Management

Responsibilities

  • Managing the placing of Purchase Orders and updating the PO Log
  • Ability to read, understand and abstract technical information from drawings and specifications to procure materials and services.
  • Tracking the order to ensure it is on plan and gets delivered correctly and on time
  • Accurate and prudent stock management skills in order to prevent redundant stock build up
  • Liaising with key company employees to determine their product and service needs.
  • Raising thorough material order enquiries for tender and material purchases.
  • Collate quotes, analyse & negotiate with suppliers for fixed annual pricing in order to maximise company returns.
  • Monitor business trends and product availability to pay the best price for company goods and services without sacrificing quality or delivery times.
  • Identify and research potential new suppliers.
  • Research new products and services to meet company's goals.
  • Assess and produce reports on total project purchases.
  • Develops and implements strategies for procuring, storing, and distributing goods while maintaining stock levels.
  • Create quarterly reports for Senior Management on Project & Company spend.
  • Cash Forecast on all jobs
  • Financial control
  • Processing and reconciling invoices
  • PQQ for all suppliers
  • Competitive tendering for Suppliers
  • Procurement of high order and Steel work
  • Take off’s on drawings
  • Quarterly review of Suppliers

Experience Required:

  • At least 3 years experience working in a procurement role for a reputable contractor within the construction industry.
  • Experience within construction procurement is essential
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Able to build good relationships with suppliers
  • Strong understanding of construction.
  • Ability to work under pressure, whilst ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Experience with Microsoft Package
