The Deputy Contract Manager will support the Management in profitably managing operational service delivery. They will ensure the efficient delivery of Cleaning, Catering, Linen and Porter services in line with requirements.

This will primarily be a management/organisational role – managing through others, but ensuring they have the necessary competence, training, back-up and support to deliver required outputs. 

The successful candidate will be able to anticipate and deal with issues; to be the communication link between the management and the workforce and meet KPI’s for the business, including financial and qualitative targets and personal targets set.

As a Deputy Contract Manager your duties will include: 

- Ensuring service provision are in line with agreed SLAs, KPIs and other relevant performance parameters: such that as far as is reasonably practicable no fiscal deductions result from the application of the payment mechanism.
- To recruit, train, control, monitor and co-ordinate staff across operational activities to include domestic services, linen, waste, security, reception and helpdesk activities to maximise efficiency and performance in these areas.
- Working in conjunction with the Deputy Manager, Supervisors and Team Co coordinators ensure plans and schedules operate to resource the service delivery requirements, including contingencies, so that conditions are always met.
- Ensuring proper processes are operated within the area of responsibility to ensure all legislative and G4S/NHS procedures are followed in order to maintain a safe and secure environment for staff and patients.
- Working with trust and G4S Management in monitoring and recording of service activities and levels of performance to demonstrate compliance and improve efficiencies.
- Overseeing and co-ordinating sub-agreements with regards to onsite linen, waste, food suppliers and window cleaning activities, to ensure delivery to agreed standards.
- Taking responsibility for managing the initial stages of all employee relations activities, including disciplinary, grievance and absence reviews.

To be a successful Deputy Manager you will have the following skills and experience: 

- Experience in the management of soft FM services within the NHS environment.
- Previous budget experience of managing £1m + contract and working knowledge of NHS cleaning standards and Better Hospital Foods.
- Excellent people and communication skills experienced in client interface and building customer relationships.
- The ability to effectively lead and manage a large team.
- A Full UK Driving Licence is also essential due to the nature of the role.

This is a permanent role working on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday working 40 hours per week.
