We have been engaged by one of Europe's leading retailers to support in the recruitment of a Supply Chain Systems lead to join an ambitious development team. The Supply Chain Systems team sit between the operational business units and the IT team to understand the business requirements and support the continued development of operational systems.

The role is based in London with a small requirement for European travel.

FUNCTIONAL COMPTENCIES:

You should be able to demonstrate the skills outlined below and independently apply these in a range of situations without guidance from others:

  • Thorough understanding of role of systems play within supply chain and logistics operations
  • Ability to identify opportunities to improve operational performance through system enhancements
  • Provide clarity on the business transactions, processes and decisions that drive how systems are required to support these activities
  • Ability to develop business cases to support system improvements and hardware
  • Work with the Supply Chain Systems Manager to deliver the strategic supply chain systems projects aimed at driving improvements and operation performance.
  • Ability to improve the performance of S&L systems through standardising their usage
  • Understanding of best practices in how to develop, test, deploy and utilise supply chain systems
  • Understanding of how to identify longer term emerging trends in areas such as technology, process and capability which may deliver improvements to current systems

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Detailed knowledge and experience of Supply Chain Systems i.e. SAP/ERP, WMS, CMS, Order Management systems, SO&P, DRP, etc.
  • End-to-end supply knowledge to understand the impact of various levers on availability and stockholding / cost
  • Experience of working within a retail business preferable
  • Comfortable working with complex technical systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
