My client is a leading food manufacturing organisation based in the North East of England specialising in specialty snack foods for the consumer market.Having experienced highly impressive organic growth through on-going excellence in performance, my client seeks a Supply Chain Manager to play an integral role in their continued development against ambitious growth plans.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of the purchasing, sourcing, warehousing & distribution processes and supplier partnerships for the company.

Main responsibilities of the role include:

  • Materials management
  • Commodity Sourcing
  • Supply chain planning
  • Customer service
  • Production planning & scheduling
  • S&OP reviews
  • Supplier management and development inc. defining vendor/supplier performance standards
  • To act as lead on cost reduction and lean/CI initiatives
  • Capacity planning
  • Logistics planning
  • Warehousing & distribution
  • Project & change management

This is a key appointment for my client to help support their ambitious growth plans. To be considered for the role, it is essential that you possess experience gained in a Supply Chain Management position in the food & drink manufacturing sector. You will ideally be degree qualified in an appropriate discipline and will possess (or working towards) MCIPS (or equivalent) accreditation.

Other key requirements for selection include:

  • Demonstrable expertise and experience in production planning and scheduling
  • Experience gained in a SME environment
  • Experience of managing a supply chain function in a constantly evolving environment
  • Materials management expertise
  • Knowledge and experience of warehousing & distribution
  • Supplier development expertise
  • Purchasing/procurement expertise
  • Demonstrable record of implementing improvements and best practise in supply chain processes, procurement and S&OP
  • Work effectively within a growing and changing organisation, including working efficiently and collaborating with other business functions
  • Strategic and creative problem solver
  • Relationship management
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Commercial acumen
  • Demonstrable experience of change and project management
