Resource Chemical LTD has an opportunity for a Purchasing Assistant where the candidate will support the Purchasing Manager in an administrative role within the company.
The employer is an ambitious and growing Chemical Distribution company that offers a busy, professional and friendly environment based at their head office in Brackley, Northamptonshire.
Duties:
- Order stock and liaise with suppliers and warehouses regarding incoming product;
- Tracking orders and updating relevant Account Manager and Purchasing Manager on ETAs and any issues;
- Ensuring correct documentation is received from suppliers in order to facilitate clearance/delivery of incoming product;
- Liaise with clearing/freight agents to ensure goods are cleared in a timely manner;
- Preparing CLP labels for incoming product and send to the warehouse;
- Obtain quotes and process orders for logistics that relate to purchasing;
- Use SAGE system for the processing of orders, goods receiving and monitoring of stock;
- Resolving all queries from the accounts team relating to the teams purchasing;
- Assist Purchasing Manager in desktop auditing process of supplier;
- Assist Purchasing Manager in creating and updating material safety data sheets and specifications;
- Maintain supplier contact records;
- To operate in accordance with company health & safety and quality procedures;
- Liaise with Finance and order foreign currency;
- In addition to the above duties, the successful Purchasing Assistant will also carry out general administrative duties and assist the office team with other areas.
Ideally the candidate will have:
*Degree level education (or equivalent);
*Any knowledge or experience within a purchasing environment;
*PC literate, excellent understanding of Microsoft, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and SAGE system;
*Attention to detail, working in a logical, methodical manner and communicate effectively in a small but dynamic team.
