Major Financial Services. Management of the commercial relationships with allocated key group suppliers - Print, postage, Marketing agencies, potentially Professional Services, too…

This role is Agile. However, you will need to be able to get to Brighton 1-2 days each week. There will also be UK-wide travel.

Support the development of best practise methodology for SRM through the application of rigorous and effective contract management policy and process, including comprehensive understanding of allocated supplier Agreements and strategy, applicable business unit strategy, business plan and key stakeholders.

Provide thought leadership and best practice to the wider Business Units and Procurement centres with regard to SRM activity, tools, processes and best practice.

****You will be expected to train SRM around the business so you will need all the necessary tools and techniques and be a seasoned SRM practitioner****.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:    

                                     

1.       SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT

         

Manage allocated key supplier contracts, ensuring all business requirements are suitably supported by external vendors through proactive account development and management.

Ensure consistent support and compliance with all relevant policies and procedures. Support the strategy and objectives across the Group in order to meet the business objectives within the most appropriate time, quality and cost parameters. Implement and promote rigorous governance throughout supplier relationships. 

Identify opportunities to drive value and improve the performance of the existing and potential supply base, seeking ways to drive innovation in processes, reduce costs, reduce risks, improve performance and stimulate competition between qualified suppliers.

To manage the governance of key supplier relationships ensuring that commercial obligations are adhered to.

2.       CONTRACT GOVERNANCE & BEST PRACTISE

Implement a formal supplier management framework for all applicable suppliers including driving the delivery of supplier Account Development Plans in order to identify opportunities to improve the level of service or reduce cost. Ensure SRM is represented and recognised across all business units. Manage risks linked to supplier activity by supporting compliance with agreed group policies, legal requirements, regulation and by engendering professional ethics.

Ensure compliance with roles and responsibilities of the UK Procurement Environmental Management System and the requirements of the CSR supply chain management programme.  To work with Procurement and MSP Governance teams to avoid overlap, maintain interworking opportunities and best practise application.

3.       COMMERCIAL LEADERSHIP

Manage and lead the commercial relationship with relevant suppliers. Control the commercial change process for key performance indicators/SLAs to ensure that the indicators in use are providing internal stakeholders with the visibility needed of the operation.

Provide procurement sourcing activity as and when required for in-scope managed suppliers.

4.       COMMERCIAL SUPPORT

Monitor and analyse supplier performance, ensure and agree and implement improvement plans with suppliers, monitor supplier engagement.

Contract Management                  

Understanding contract law sufficiently to be able to identify risks, gaps and opportunities and to be able to ensure supplier delivery to the required quality

•        Lead and run in scope RFI/RFP’s and commercial/contractual negotiations.

•        A demonstrable knowledge of techniques to deliver continuous cost savings and add value to business units

Supply Chain Management           

Understanding the supply chain including the role of suppliers, their importance and their impact on the Group. Also understanding the regulatory obligations relating to the supply chain

•        A knowledge of tools and techniques to evaluate the balance of power between the Group and its suppliers, the impact of this balance/imbalance and how to use it or change it to the Group’s advantage

•        Understanding of contract negotiation and contract/supplier management best practise

•        Understanding of supplier governance and its implementation for different agreements
