An Engineering buisiness based in Swindon has a fantastic opportunity for a solid manager who has a strong background particulary within managing an operation, leading and coaching a team. 

Responsibilities -
• To support the business and to achieve its customer’s demands
• To control the day to day running of workshop personnel and the organisation of part manufacture throughout the business
• Ensure the safe and effective operation of the workshop and workshop personnel
• To make yourself aware of the general workload, job requirements, ‘who is doing what’ and delivery requirements.
• Communicate information to the different departments as required, including priorities and delivery information to the Trim shop and Inspection.
• To implement sufficient cover of department personnel where required to achieve deadlines including evening and weekends. To be able to assess capacity issues and respond accordingly.
• Organise & authorise overtime to individuals when and where required
• Authorise Holiday & Lieu time of workshop staff
• To control and contact agencies/individuals for additional temporary contract staff as required. 
• Organise and chair workshop meetings with the Leading Hands, and other management if required.
• Attend weekly production meetings with Office Management and Project team to discuss current and future workloads and requirements, plus any feedback.
• Organise workflow and oversee the complete manufacturing process.
• Ensure good communication between workshop staff, office management and Directors.
• Ensure and promote professionalism, efficiency and good communication throughout.
• Problem solving – ‘on the job’ decision making, providing support to the staff when required.
• Oversee and facilitate training and mentoring of new staff members to each department where required.
• To ensure an induction process is carried out for new employees or induction staff
• To ensure good housekeeping is addressed to a satisfactory and professional level.
• To ensure and maintain paperwork control. Job packs are issued and completed correctly, checked and returned to the office on completion.
• Drawings & Laminate manuals are up to date or filed.

Ideally the candidate will have a variety of experience within varied sector's. Strong management and supervisory skills are key as is an understanding of motivating and coaching a team.

Knowledge of HR, H&S, Legislation, Supply Chain, Inventory, Performance management would all be welcome. You will be tenacious and able to cope well under pressure.
