About the client:

Our client is a growing mechanical manufacturing company and is dedicated to improving ways to safeguard life and property.

Due to our clients continued success and growth plans they are now looking to recruit a Production Operations Manager to join their business. This position is office based in Havant responsible for 30+ people, including 3+ direct reports.

Production Operations Manager Role:

This role is very much a strategic role, leading 30+ people and holding overall responsibility for the manufacturing and shipment of our client's products for clients globally. You will be enabling the most efficient, effective manufacturing process of bespoke goods while looking ahead to see how we can deliver even smarter. National and international travel may be required. Key success criteria for this role are to deliver to schedule, improve production rates and accuracy, and gain maximum value out of the supply chain

Production Operations Manager Key responsibilities Include:

• Overall responsibility for the management of the factory, ensuring that schedules are met and goods are accurately produced.
• Form excellent relationships with internal departments and key people
• Form excellent relationships with suppliers and distributors.
• Drive efficiencies in the production of fire and smoke curtains
• Ensure machinery is correct and fit for purpose, scoping out and introducing new machinery.
• Identify and introduce new production capabilities.
• Lead change and improvement projects, including culture change.
• Manage, motivate, coach and develop high - performing teams to deliver on agreed objectives and business requirements.
• Identify issues and working to resolve these with the best possible outcomes.
• Ensure Health and Safety is at the forefront of all we do.
• Ensure all operational processes and procedures are maintained adhered to and improved.
• Develop the strategy for continuous improvement in the manufacturing department.
• Work as part of the Senior Management Team, bringing fresh ideas to the table for improvements both within your department and across the company.
• Coach and mentor direct reports
• Carry out such additional responsibilities as may be considered necessary.

The ideal Production Operations Manager:

Essential:

• Experience in the manufacturing of bespoke goods
• Proven leadership skills
• A formal qualification in mechanical engineering or similar

Desirable:

• Qualifications in Health and Safety, e.g. NEBOSH / IOSH
• Continuous improvement
