- Job Title: Buyer Department: Sales and Purchasing

Purpose of the Buyer role:
- Meet department objectives and responsibilities for assigned commodities
- Support company business objectives related to Purchasing
Roles and Responsibilities of the Buyer:
- RFQ preparation
- Participate in cost reduction generation and tracking
- Assist in trial parts preparation
- Identification of new suppliers, assessments and sourcing proposals
- New part cost negotiation and achievement of target costs for new models
- Data analysis and reporting
- Establish working relationship with all departments, initiate meetings with engineering to understand new part concepts and design concerns
- Supplier management - understand supplier quality rating (PPM and cause and countermeasure); supplier delivery condition; financial condition; cost reduction performance; market share; etc
- Communicate supplier issues (quality, delivery, financial, etc.) with management when appropriate
- Establish good product knowledge and understanding of your commodities (part content, part function, raw materials, part benchmark data, process and other suppliers for these type parts)
- Support the implementation, achievement, and maintenance of the Quality and Environmental Policies and Procedures as required for department
- Travel expectations: Available to visit suppliers either individually or as part of a team as required

- We are ideally looking for someone who is CIPS qualified and someone who has experience working in a high volume manufacturing environment.
