Procurement Manager

My client enables premium hospitality brands to deliver exceptional customer experience through intelligent design. The quality and integrity of our supply and manufacturing partnerships is key to our success.

The purpose of this role is to define and deliver a buying strategy for goods, materials and services, to ensure that high quality products are sourced at the lowest reasonable costs.

The key deliverables are:

  • A Procurement strategy aligned to the business strategy - cost reduction, risk management, environmental & social policies etc
  • Cost reductions for existing SKUs
  • A Database/list of new and existing suppliers and capabilities
  • Contracts/Head of Terms in place with suppliers
  • Supplier Audit process defined and delivered
  • Manage payment terms with suppliers
  • Improved lead times
  • An improved Procure to Pay process
  • Accurate Landed Costs on ERP

Role Responsibilities

  • Strategic selection of the supplier base
  • Negotiating contracts, cost prices, payment terms, MOQs, SLAs etc
  • Annual price negotiations with existing suppliers
  • Management of ongoing relationships with existing suppliers
  • Sourcing new suppliers for existing and new products
  • Working with NPD on new product pipeline. Advising and sourcing new suppliers as required to ensure improved COGS at launch
  • Completing and filing supplier audits to ensure alignment with the company ethical sourcing policy and GMP
  • Management of the purchasing function and the Procure to Pay cycle.
  • Ensuring that suppliers deliver on time to specification.
  • Addressing quality & delivery issues to resolution
  • Working closely with other functional heads on quality, S&OP, planning etc
  • Regular and ad hoc reporting

Skills & Experience

  • 5+ years procurement experience - preferably within manufacturing industry
  • CIPS Qualification
  • High performance, results driven attitude
  • Structured approach to problem solving
  • Desire for continuous improvement
  • Proactive, hardworking, keen to learn
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to demonstrate initiative and the ability to define, cost and deliver solutions
  • Ability and confidence to challenge intelligently
  • Numerate, analytical and IT literate with good verbal and written communication skills
  • Honest, reliable, personable team player willing to 'pitch in’ as required
  • Able to work cross functionally
  • Language skills preferable but not essential
