Established in 2012, my client is an award winning, innovative and fast growing food company supplying the UK and Spanish market with high quality fresh food. They put their customers at the centre of all their decisions. By listening to their customers, and conducting a high level of consumer research, they are able to provide products and an experience they know their customers truly appreciate. My client's products are sold in the likes of Tesco, Asda, Marks and Spencer's, Waitrose and Morrison's. As a business they are focused on product quality, technical standards and innovation and off the back of this are seeing mass growth. The business is now in demand and with the team growing there is now a NEW position available for a Junior Category Manager to come on board and develop.

Description

The new role of Junior Category Manager will report to the Category & Innovation Manager and collaborate with, as well as support, the Sales and NPD teams in implementing a successful category strategy. In this hands-on role they will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of a creative, innovative and profitable category.

  • Support & manage the category relationship with all customers.
  • Establish and execute market development strategies
  • Work closely with the sales and NPD teams to drive category growth.
  • Develop plans to grow sales and profitability of the categories.
  • Plan and advise on category activity and strategy direction.
  • Undertake research and analyse market/category/product data to gain category shopper insights.
  • Understand the marketplace and respond to opportunities and threats as they arise.
  • Monitor trends in competitor companies and react where appropriate.
  • Seek new commercial initiatives with potential to increase sales and profitability.
  • Inform relevant parties on new products, new market news and overall market performance in a structured format.

Profile

  • Understanding of IRI, Dunnhumby and other market data platforms such as Kantar & Nielsen
  • Commercial understanding and analytical skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a demanding role and meet tight deadlines
  • Able to represent the company strongly both internally and externally
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Excel & PowerPoint

Job Offer

A salary of up to £30k is on offer for the right candidate
