Procurement Director, salary c£90,000 plus excellent benefits

We are supporting Brunel as it transforms its transactional ‘tendering team’ into a commercially focused, centrally coordinated ‘Procurement Services’ function; becoming an integral and valued (internal and external) strategic partner with increased execution capability.
As part of this transformation, we are recruiting a Director of Procurement. Reporting to the Chief Finance Officer, the post holder will lead and embed a new team and operating model that is both fit for purpose and drives value for money. Responsible for current addressable spend of circa £60 million, your duties will include:
- Developing and implementing a new 3-year Procurement Strategy for 2019-22
- Leading a commercially focussed, permanently staffed procurement function which will adopt a common strategic approach for all tendered activity that operates collaboratively across the University
- Implementing a common approach to support devolved Contracts Management and improved Supplier Relationship Management
- Adopting improved commercial governance and approving the formal adoption of a new eSourcing Suite.
To succeed you must be professionally qualified in MCIPS with a strong track recordof operating at a senior level in a high profile procurement and commercial function. The post holder will ideally have experience of change management,exceptional communication and influencing skills, and able to build sustainable and productive relationships with a range of stakeholders. As well as this, your strong and visible leadership will enable you to develop a talented, diverse and engaged workforce.
