My Client are a leading cosmetics business based in North London who are looking for an International Shipping and Logistics Planner at their Head office.

Responsibilities of Role…

To manage freight forwarder collections, arrange sea and air shipping and delivery to the UK warehouse. To liaise with warehouse teams on inbound and outbound delivery schedules, reprocessing requirements and capacity planning.

  • To liaise with international factories to ensure that production meets agreed schedules, to monitor and identify where there may be risks within the production process, to establish regular planning dialogue with the factories.
  • To coordinate with factories on the results of their AQL testing and to manage AQL inspections at factories using inspection teams as required.
  • To arrange shipping through agents from the factory into the UK, using a mix of sea and air freight including LCL. To monitor consignments and to ensure timely delivery, manage relevant documents as required. On occasions, to obtain quotes for specific shipping requirements.
  • To coordinate with business warehouse operations teams to ensure that inbound deliveries are processed and put away within agreed KPI’s. To manage order book fulfilment, ensuring that orders are planned and scheduled with the warehouse teams ensuring that my client meet the customers required delivery date. To manage our re-processing and rework requirements with the warehouse teams, ensuring that work is completed in a timely way to enable stock availability for agreed delivery dates.
  • Planning capacity with warehouse and factories based on latest business projections and committed orders. To identify with warehouse operations areas of capacity constraint and escalate areas of concern.

Skills Required

  • Excellent IT skills with advanced Excel.
  • Already working within a similar role with a minimum 2 years’ experience.
  • Experience of working to critical paths.
  • Experience of working with Far East factory base.
  • Experience of working with Supplier Manuals and customer specific requirements.
  • Sound decision-making skills and the ability to plan and prioritise.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Excellent analytical, forecasting and numerical skills.
  • knowledge of beauty or Retail industries.
