The role is responsible for Project Managing all Purchasing activities in relation to the launch of new machines within the NPIP process including the compliance with group purchasing policy

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure the scope and targets of the new programme is understood and communicated to the various Purchasing Teams in order to facilitate early supplier engagement

Support Engineering in constructing a drawing release plan capable of supporting the overall timing requirements and to project manage the long lead time parts.

Support the construction of BOMs and provide a summary of the existing supplier performance that includes development plans where appropriate.

Support Engineering with the Fit for Purpose Sign off procedure

Assess suppliers risk on new programmes, agree the list of suppliers requiring either passive or active APQP and project manage the process

Support the assessment of parts handling throughout the process in order to ensure best quality is consistently delivered

Work together with Engineering to agree cost targets.

Cost tracking to ensure Suppliers, Engineers and Buyers are focused on achieving the cost targets set for each project.

Financial reporting for purchase of prototypes

Manage the interface between Purchasing, Suppliers and the Division for each NPI programme

Requirements

  • Project Management experience
  • Production Parts Approval Process (PPAP)
  • Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • New Product Introduction
  • Working in a multinational manufacturing environment
  • Supplier Relationship Management
  • Engineering or Design understanding
  • Educated to degree level (Business or Engineering)
  • CIPS or Prince2 (preferable)
