Planning Manager (Manufacturing Supply chain)


Have proven inventory control experience ideally in a

Manufacturing environment:

• Demonstrate knowledge of best practice purchasing procedures.

• Have an understanding of MRP polices, constraints and inputs.

• Experience in the use of purchasing systems.

• Experience of analysing and acting on data to improve the process

using software such as MS Excel.

• Capable of operating in a fast-changing organisation.

• Good communicative ability and relationship building skills.

• Ability to maintain and develop lasting relationships with external

suppliers.

• Strong organisational skills.

• Resource management experience.

• Strong customer focus.

Performance Indicators


• Procurement Spend by product by supplier including identifiable
savings.
• Stock turn by product Group.
• Variation reports, receipt against purchase, Inventory accuracy
through perpetual checks & reconciliations stockholding levels and
controls.
Main Purpose / Key result areas:
Coordinating the purchasing programme in line with forecasted requirements and current Supplier constraints


Duties & Responsibilities:
• Managing the production of forward purchase plans.
• Clarifying the requirement and the urgency of requests for
materials.
• Sourcing an appropriate supplier for the requirement at a price
that represents value for money.
• Defining and managing Supplier performance metrics.
• Liaise closely with all departments to ensure that procurement
meets project needs.
• Identifying alternative supply and cost down opportunities.
• Communicating with suppliers and colleagues across the business
in relation to internal projects.
