Our FTSE 250 Business based in the Bracknell area are seeking an experienced Procurement specialist (indirect purchasing) to join their established Procurement department.

As the Procurement specialist you will be required to manage the sourcing, negotiating and contracting to ensure supply of services and goods to UK/Ireland from the external market place by applying best Purchasing practises for assigned categories.

In addition you will be required to also develop effective business relationships with suppliers, Business Partners and other team members.

Key Duties:

  • Source, negotiate and contract, with direction from the Senior Procurement Manager, for goods and services in allocated categories, to deliver quality and value.
  • Align with the respective Business Partners and deliver best value / Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) to meet the business needs.
  • Implement the supplier relationship management process across allocated categories.
  • Develop and maintain effective business relationships.
  • Demonstrate purchasing know how, processes and policies.
  • Management and maintenance of the supplier base of assigned categories.

  • Prepare Sourcing and Category Strategies, which optimise external spend and prepare for future sourcing challenges.
  • Prioritise, identify and action opportunities within categories.
  • Deliver on cross-functional projects
  • Making sure appropriate actions are taken to achieve and maintain required supplier performance levels, and mitigate risk.
  • Effective communication and collaboration on a regular basis with colleagues, managers, business partners and suppliers.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of purchasing techniques and company policies and procedures are routinely applied.
  • Propose process improvements and create/revise procedures that have positive impact on the organisation. Provides enhanced reporting analysis.
  • Challenge the set-up of new suppliers and identify consolidation opportunities.
  • Support, review and effectively implement new and existing systems and processes.
  • Demonstrate good knowledge of company processes, systems and ways of working
