Your new role
Purchasing and expediting of products and services to meet production and spare parts requirements.

What you'll need to succeed
Key responsibilities: Duties and responsibilities (to include but not exhaustive to)

• Inputting orders into MRP system
• Forecast/Place purchase orders in accordance with material requirements
• Expediting and rescheduling orders
• Sourcing and negotiating with existing and alternative suppliers
• Supplier relationship management
• Liaising with production and planning departments to ensure timely material availability
• Control of material stock levels
• Ongoing maintenance of MRP system
• Promotion of purchasing best practice principles throughout the department and the organisation
• Liaison with Engineering and Quality Departments for product approval.
• Any other relevant duties that you may from time to time be requested to perform

Performance Standards: Performance will be monitored, based upon but not exclusive to:

• Discounts and savings obtained
• Protection of commercial interests of the company
• Ensuring suppliers' compliance with company requirements
• Delivery of supplies on time
• Effective communication with internal and external contacts
• Purchase administration improvement and compliance
• Benchmarking of current and potential suppliers and subsequent strategy formulation
• Supplier conflict resolution

Knowledge, skills & experience required:

• Excellent communication both written and verbal.
• Understands the principles of purchasing and cost-effectiveness
• Must be adept in use of MS Office, particularly Excel and Word, Internet and email.
• Previous experience using an MRP system
• Previous experience working within a manufacturing organization.
• Able to understand calculations and basic business finance.
