The Supplier Management Executive (Fresh Produce) will manage the interface between suppliers and the company. The focus will be on building excellent relationships with suppliers, negotiating contracts, pricing and stock management.

Our client are one of the UK's largest and best known produce companies, supplying the major supermarkets, wholesale and food services sectors. They are now seeking a Supplier Management Executive (Fresh Produce) to join there team in Canterbury.

Description

The Supplier Management Executive (Fresh Produce) will be responsible for:

  • Building relationships with our global suppliers

  • Negotiate weekly availability and planning with global suppliers on projected programmes and delivery timetables
  • Working with suppliers to negotiate prices on a weekly and seasonal basis.
  • Confirming programmes with suppliers ensuring these are accurate and costed
  • Identifying and communicating whether products are raw materials or finished products
  • Maintaining market knowledge to identifying new product lines from existing suppliers and keeping abreast of potential new opportunities for products and suppliers
  • Building relationships and working closely with internal departments such as Sales, Technical, Quality and other support teams
  • Responsible for invoicing your suppliers and maintaining the highest profit margins on each weekly price achieved.

Profile

The Supplier Management Executive (Fresh Produce) will be able to demonstrate:

  • Fluency in Spanish & English language
  • Expose to the fresh produce industry
  • Numerical competence
  • High computer literacy, especially with Excel
  • Strong and pro-active communication skills
  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and relationship management
  • Good decision maker, in particular under pressure
