Category Manager (Property Maintenance)
Redhill, Surrey

Upto £46,000 per annum
2 year fixed term contract

Raven is a Housing Association with 6,500 homes working across East Surrey and Sussex. We build homes for those that can’t meet their housing needs in the market and in doing so we help them change their lives. Our work goes far beyond that of a traditional landlord and extends into support for individuals and their communities. We are also a growing and increasingly complex social business with a turnover of £50m, and a further £50m a year spent on building new homes.

We deliver a range of cyclical, investment, maintenance, building and property services to our customers to the value of around £9m per year.

We are currently seeking for a Category Manager to evaluate our current maintenance related expenditure, design a procurement plan, provide advice on the best methods for each procurement package to achieve the best value in both financial and social value terms. You'll undertake the procurement activity using Raven’s InTend- e-procurement system, whilst effectively working in collaboration with the Repairs and Assets teams.
Proactive in your approach, you will take ownership and responsibility for a portfolio of work types and provide procurement support and develop category strategies that help to rationalise the supply base and deliver ambitious savings targets.

Further to this, you’ll implement procurement strategies that deliver both quality and value on an enduring basis by embedding strong contract management tools and social value mechanisms into contracts.

We are looking for a self-motivated, determined individual who is highly organised with strong attention to detail. You will have a good working knowledge of relevant standard forms of contract for construction and maintenance and applicable legislation. Ideally, you will hold MCIPS qualification, or working towards, and/or demonstrable experience. Broad experience achieved within the Social Housing sector (or similar) procurement environments including the use of The Public Contract Regulations 2015, and Section 20 leasehold consultation is essential.

Closing date: 22nd January 2019

Interview date: 30th January 2019.
