One Step recruitment are seeking an organised Logistics Team Leader for a role at one of the regions most highly recognised and globally-minded manufacturers.

Our client is a leading metal, optics and R&D operation, with a global supply and customer base and connections to the aerospace, industrial, life science and scientific research sectors.

The Logistics Team Leader will be a core member of the Supply Clain team, responsible for:

  • The organising the receiving, storage, issue, dispatch and recording of material movements into the factory, stock coming in and out of stores and monitoring customer output, using Syspro systems,
  • Maintenance of stock and traceability of records held in stores..
  • The forwarding of goods requiring physical inspection to relevant inspectors,
  • The notification of appropriate personnel with Good’s Receiving Issues, quarantining the parts and ensure actions are completed within a timely manner,
  • Work in accordance with FIFO guidelines,
  • Completion of weekly cycle count and documentation of all stock variances and, when found, and reporting to Procurement Manager and Finance Controller,
  • Overseeing the smooth running of dispatch,
  • Ensuring staff are correctly trained in MHE and ensuring MHE is maintained in line with equipment recommendations,
  • Maintenance of operator records where applicable, and maintenance of a counter service for internal customers,
  • Operate a daily 'Milk Round’ for Consumables,
  • Ensuring all military components are segregated and stored in accordance with ITAR requirements,

Your other responsibilities will the guaranteeing of Health and Safety within stores and logistics, equipment management and regulation training and recording, applying Lean management techniques where required, defining clear objectives for staff, supporting staff levels and rota management, and supporting of delivery of product across all fields.

You will also be responsible for the planning, co-ordination and control of resources in Stores to ensure KPI’s are met.

The Candidate

  • Accuracy led, with key competencies in quality control, speed of service and communication,
  • Compliant and adaptable,
  • Previous experience in Stores, Warehousing or an equivalent role,
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment is highly advantageous,
  • Working knowledge of Syspro or equivalent ERP system,
  • Microsoft package competent,

For your hard work you’ll paid up to £28,000pa, on a 37hr a week contract (dependent on business need).
