Logistics Coordinator

(Import / Export)

Based: Nelson, Lancs (BB9)

£28,000pa (neg) + Bonus

Our client is an established global supplier of Lubricants & Process Aids to the Automotive and Baking Industries. Due to continued success and growth they now have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Logistics Coordinator to join an established team.

As a key member of the Senior Management team you will report directly to the M/D and help drive the company forward delivering growth and expanding their worldwide operations.

You will have overall responsibility for the company’s logistical operations from supplier collections through to the final customer delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Organising the import and export processes from start to finish, ensuring they are smooth, on time and commercially efficient whilst also making certain that all aspects of the process are compliant with import and export rules and regulations.

  • Full understanding of the required import and export processes, legalities including documentation, customs and duties.

  • Managing the entire overseas delivery chain process, adhering to timescales and deadlines and ensuring a high standard of service.

  • Monitoring the whole operation and produce KPI data that allows the Logistical operation to be monitored and managed effectively.

  • Strategically planning the company’s future logistic operation taking into account product order changes, new products, required stock level fluctuations and worldwide economic changes.

  • Identifying and negotiating rates/contracts and selecting distribution partners worldwide.

  • Overseas travel will be required (approx 2-3 times per year) in order to audit and train chosen partners ensuring that they are delivering to their exacting standards.

    Skills

  • Current and relevant logistics experience in imports and exports between worldwide countries.

  • Extensive knowledge of import/export regulations, understand what is required for compliancy to guarantee on time movement of goods.

  • Good communication, language, literacy, numeracy, problem solving and organisational skills.

  • Handle multiple projects at any one time and remaining level headed when under pressure.
