Our client is the UK’s largest 4x4 accessory centre. The business is currently looking for an exceptional individual capable of stock planning, buying and ordering over 3,500 stock lines mainly from the Far East, USA and Europe. Reporting to and initially working with the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for the cost-effective procurement of imported products from suppliers, ensuring that stock levels are sufficient to meet demand whilst overall stock holdings are maintained at minimum levels.

The company is the sole importer for pick-up truck-top and accessory brands such as Aeroklas, Alpha, Proform, Mountain Top, Roll 'N’ Lock, ARB and Trux and in addition it supplies its own commercial hardtops registered under its Pro//Top brand. This is a great position for someone who is experienced in the sector and who would like to apply their analytical, scheduling and logistical skills, knowledge and experience to the ordering buying and delivery of an extensive product inventory.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Working with the Managing Director to understand the current supply chain and inventory catalogue

* Cost effective, efficient and quality driven procurement
* Comprehensive management of all aspects of the supply chain.
* Monitoring and forecasting upcoming levels of demand
* Management of shipping and freight logistics to ensure stock arrives on time
* Management and development of a team of 2 inventory controllers

The successful candidate will have the following:

* Extensive knowledge of supply chain management in a high volume 'import led’ environment whilst operating in a senior procurement role.
* An logical approach to the ordering of stock with a focus on analytics to ensure optimum quantities of stock are delivered.
* Experience of maximising stock turnover and minimising stock holding costs
* Capable of making important and strategic decisions
* Excellent communication, negotiation, leadership and influencing skills
* Ability to manage change effectively
