Office / logistics Administrator - £18k to £23k plus a £1k+ bonus - Bolney

We are recruiting for a client who is situated in Bolney, West Sussex. This is an admin support role, liaising and working closely with the Office Manager and Sales Team within the Import and Export Industry.

The position is to support the Sales Team, taking responsibility of the logistics administration of a small team, incorporating basic accounting and banking duties. Sixty percent of the role will be administration with around forty percent spent contacting customers and suppliers, many of whom will not be situated in the UK.

The post involves:

Preparing the contracts/invoices and documentation necessary for importation and exportation of goods, via land and sea as instructed by the Sales Team. You will be in direct contact with customers, transportation companies/shipping lines and producers/suppliers from Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East via e-mail and on the phone.

The role involves liaising with shipping lines & transport companies to arrange the transportation of goods, including contacting relevant organisations and/or local authorities for the issuance of customs documents and/or transport documentation as required.

Dealing with queries, issues or complaints relating to the shipments in a timely manner. Issuing invoices and credit notes, ensuring payments are received within terms agreed. Following up administrative tasks to ensure accurate logs & records are kept and the company adheres to ISO9001:2015 requirements.

The role is ideal for a candidate who enjoys variety and working in a small yet busy business.

Full training and support will be offered to build upon the skills you bring to the role. There are plenty of elements of the role which take different paths however there are templates and processes to follow so in time the duties will become more familiar. Experience of using Outlook and a good level of Excel is a requirement.

We are seeking a candidate who can offer stability on their CV with experience of working in an office to include customer service, logistics experience and administration skills. Ideally the candidate would have experience with spreadsheets, import/export and be willing to undertake a variety of tasks with a view to progress within the role.

You must be a driver with your own transport as the business is not accessible via public transport.

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm. There is an onsite free staff car park.
