Operational / Management Accountant

Grafton Banks Finance are currently recruiting for an Operational/Management Accountant to join a large national company with offices based in Crawley. The successful candidate will be newly qualified or at the final stages of their ACA/ACCA/CIMA studies. Management accountancy experience is required for the role.

Key responsibilities include:

• Be the first point of interface between the Finance team and Connection Services Management and Operational teams
• Provide clear, insightful and accurate management information to improve operational performance, service quality and the financial performance of the Connection Services business
• Help produce accurate annual budgets, liaising with both the Operational Planning Accountant and the wider business to support budget submissions
• Produce/supervise and be responsible for monthly management accounts including P&L and Balance Sheet.
• Ensure effective financial control for Connection Services activities 
• Co-ordinate production and distribution of the monthly finance reports to operational management
• Act as direct line manager for 1 staff including setting objectives
• Manage relationship with internal and external auditors for Connection Services Activities
• Understand and explain operational and financial performance to managers in a manner that focuses debate and drives a culture of continuous improvement to meet or exceed targets.
• Provide analysis of costing information and in conjunction with the Pricing team (Connections) ensure prices set are accurate and updated on an annual basis
• Liaise with the business to understand why jobs are outside of tolerance and work with them and the wider Operations business to help remedy any issues, if appropriate
