Senior Buyer

The Procurement Division of SF Group is currently recruiting for a Senior Buyer for one of our key clients in Leicester.

Our client is looking to add an additional Senior Buyer to their fun and out-going team, due to recent expansion of the business and the winning of two major contracts.

This role will suit an experienced Buyer who works ideally within the following sectors- Manufacturing/Engineering or FMCG.

As the Senior Buyer you will have the following responsibilities:

- Direct reports of 2- Purchasing Administrator and Junior Buyer
- Develop and maintain relationships with existing suppliers
- Analyse supplier capabilities, adding and sourcing new suppliers to the supplier base
- Negotiate on orders, striving to improve prices and terms of business with suppliers
- Monitor delivery times, improving on lead times through effective negotiation
- Proactively strive for continuous development, suggesting improvements and ways to improve customer service and growth
- Proactively develop your team, passing up best working practice and knowledge
- Work closely with the Procurement Manager to look at new strategies and develop best working practices across the division

To be successful in the role you will need a minimum of 4 years experience as a Buyer.

You will also ideally come from an engineering/ manufacturing background within procurement, and have excellent negotiation and communication skills.

This is a full time permanent role

£35,000- £40,000 DOE
25 Days annual leave + bank holidays
Pension
Annual bonus (up to 10% of annual salary)
