My client is a major player in the high end gym and fitness club business in the UK and following an internal restructure they are looking to appoint an experience and dynamic Supply Chain Manager. 

The role will report to the Operational Manager. The purpose of the role will be to manage the Supply Chain function, ensure suppliers are operating in line with expectation and that the clear policies are in place to support this.   The role engages with both internal and external stakeholders includings existing and proposed suppliers, regional operation management and club level operations teams. 

Specifics of the role will be as follows - 

• Responsible for overall management of the supply chain systems and processes
• Driving continuous improvement of supplier performance, signing off supplier action plans and supplier exit plans
• Ensuring comprehensive analytical support for all supply chain functions, policies and decision making
• Collecting and analysing compliance reports from the business, identifying reasons for misalignment and developing and executing resolution plans
• Taking responsibility for the compliance aspects of the supply chain process including defining compliance criteria and ensuring all activities conform with business policy
• Ensuring supply chain processes are updated in line with best practice and standardising processes across teams
• Making changes to supply chain policy where required. Defining scope, exclusions, procedures and KPIs
• Ensuring supply chain training is carried out so that the organisation has the skills to deliver its objectives
• Updating supply chain policy documentation and communicating it to the business
• Owning and maintaining the latest versions of the supply chain processes, ensuring that they are continually reviewed and updated
• Coordinating with individual clubs to review the service delivery of all supply chain processes
• Leading and coordinating change management activities and project implementation using project management tools
• Managing Supply Chain co-ordinators and providing first line support to clubs
• Ensuring a relevant number of suppliers in situ, by way of regular supplier reviews
• Ensuring up to date supplier catalogues and supplier information are on record at all times

Success in this role will be measured by supplier KPI performance, a reduction in escalated issues and the maintainence of a clear and concise Supply Chain Policy. 

The client is specifically looking for the following characteristics from applicants - 

• Supply Chain Management experience within a multi-site operation
• Ability to clearly present supplier performances, in easy reference way
• Ability to influence senior management through articulation of your analysis
• Excellent commercial understanding and capability
• Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• In depth knowledge of best practice procurement and supply chain methodology
• Negotiation and influencing skills
• Proven excellent management, supervisory and motivational skills
