The Role

This role focuses on delivering operational excellence in Logistics, achieving supply chain and departmental targets through performance management and continuous improvement. You will be responsible for developing and delivering cost effective and continually evolving useful logistic services with particular focus on outbound final mile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor delivery quality and address in cases of deviation from agreed standards.
  • Use detailed root cause analysis to agree resolution action with suppliers.
  • Prepare and drive monthly operational meetings with LSPs, ensuring follow up and ownership of tasks.
  • Monitoring and assisting with transport related customer complaints , taking ownership for claims process.
  • Creating, monitoring and acting on financial forecasts with support from Financial Controller.
  • Participate in transport related projects and tasks to support supply chain improvements.
  • Ensuring standard operating procedures are maintained and adhered to relating to GBI transport suppliers.
  • Perform proactive data trend analysis to identify key areas for improvement, and propose / implement actions to address trends.
  • Support the creation and delivery of Logistics Operational plan, working in partnership with key stakeholders within GBI Sales organisation to gain an in-depth understanding of what matters to the internal and external customer with careful consideration of capacity constraints within and outside the department
  • Supporting Contract Logistics Commercial Team with the sourcing and engagement of key transport suppliers , supporting:
    • contract renewals,
    • negotiations
    • onboarding of new suppliers,
    • creation of Service level agreements
    • business development reviews
  • Keep abreast of new developments in the field of logistics and supply chain, through membership of professional bodies, attending seminars, forums, networking and reading management journals, evaluating opportunities in the context of the business.

Experience and Key Skills

  • Educated to degree level in a Business Managment or Supply Chain Discipline
  • Process and system mindset
  • Experience of working in a logistic environment managing supplier performance
