Supply Chain Manager- Permanent- Full Time- Great Yarmouth- £50-65K

Hales Group are seeking a Supply Chain Manager that is responsible for timely, cost-effective procurement, inventory control, planning and quality control of production materials. You will ensure the availability of materials in the supply chain, as scheduled, and the maintenance of inventory at the established levels. You will coordinate and integrate the flow of materials and information among suppliers, manufacturers, distributors and customers, identifying opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain. Resources are focused on continuous improvement of the movement of materials through production processes, and the establishment of key performance metrics and benchmarks to monitor actual performance against goals.

  • Leading the Supply Chain functional departments at our Great Yarmouth facility including Planning, Procurement, Warehousing and Logistics.
  • Development and actively track and maintain departmental KPI's to ensure business goals are met and exceeded.
  • Proactive reporting to plant management and customer service, material shortages that impact delivery and revenue commitments.
  • Develop and execute recovery plans for anticipated material shortages to eliminate or minimise impact to production and customers.
  • Planning short- and long-term production and inventory requirements based on forecasts, historical usage, capacity and demand.
  • Performing root cause analysis for material shortages and implementation of long-term corrective action plans.
  • Manage a group of external and intercompany suppliers ensuring delivery on time is achieved as well as quality.
  • Identify and develop key talent within all Supply Chain functions.
  • Manage and develop material savings projects and initiatives.
  • Develop and execute continuous improvement strategies in process and systems.
  • Oversee and advise on trade compliance issues at both customer service quotation stage and logistics, including license determination, license application, proof of export reconciliation and records maintenance.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply chain, business or equivalent technical discipline
  • Extensive experience in Supply Chain management and associated discipline
  • Extensive knowledge and practical application of planning methods and process
  • Experience and understanding of Lean concepts ( Standard Work, Visual Management, KanBan, 5S+1, VSM, Material Replenishment and Flow)
  • General Knowledge of Marine, Oil & Gas industry, low volume, high mix production.
  • Previous experience using Sage software and SAP advantageous
  • Strong computer skills in MS Office (Excel and Powerpoint)

  • Strong analytical skills to determine root cause & trends and application of corrective actions.
  • Exceptional communicator to all levels of the business
  • Proven track record of effective change management and project management
  • Self-organisation and prioritization to achieve short and long term personal and business goals and objectives
  • Ability to work at fast pace and take accountability to make decisions
  • Robust leadership of a diverse group of direct reports, facilitating their own professional development and providing honest timely feedback of performance.
