Reed Procurement & Supply Chain are looking for a Shipping and Customs Manager to join our client on a full-time and permanent basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone with an HMRC Customs and Shipping background who wants to work their way up in a company! Our client encourages progression and growth so if you are looking for that next move within Shipping this could be the role for you!
This role is working a 37.5 hour working week Monday to Friday but can offer flexibility in hours worked.
When the work is demanding you would be excpected to stay to complete work, although our client do encourage a work/life balance at all times.
The salary on offer is up to £36,000 per annum DOE.
Duties will include;
- Line managing a Shipping Administrator
- Ensuring continuous improvement and career progression for Shipping Administrator
- Working closely with freight forwarders to arrange all import and export shipments to and from UK warehouse
- Achieving competitive rates if using air freight methods
- Preparing a seasonal shipping plan and working closely with suppliers
- Ensuring that goods are delivered on time via sea freight
- Being fully responsible for day to day relationship with main freight forwarder
- Arranging direct customer shipments
- Provide assistance with customs clearance as and when required
- Overseeing shipment documentation
- Carrying out checks on shipment documents in advance of goods arriving to ensure accurate customs clearance
- Managing all import and export custom entries
- Managing the HMRC Customs Warehousing process and authorisation
- Working closely with HMRC
- Being responsible for courier and UK haulier accounts
- Working closely with colleagues from Customer Service, Warehouse and Production Management departments to ensure issues and reports are communicated
- Making an application for AEO status to HMRC
- Staying up to date with Brexit developments and learning how trade will be affected
