OPERATIONS MANAGER - INVENTORY CONTROL

The role is responsible for the Inventory management across 2 larg distribution sites along with the operational management of a team of 50, there will also be an element of Quality Assurance responsibility within this role.

Furthermore, the role includes regulatory compliance in terms of resolution of all Operational CAPAs, and ISO Quality Management System adherence, including plans for up to date Training Matrix, Work Instructions and SOPs.

The IC Operations Manager will be responsible for managing and developing the team, promoting safe and best practice, the management of the budget including profit and loss.

You will be an accomplished Operations Manager with a proven track record in improving efficiency, delivering cost reductions and driving best practice and compliance in dual or multi-site/multi-purpose sites and will have a reputation for exceptional leadership, troubleshooting and diligence all the while utilising a complex warehouse management system.

This senior position will require you to manage all Operations aspects for 2 large warehouses with a focus on continuous improvement; streamlining operations and procedures to optimise profit, margin and revenues - Eliminating financial leakage from, damage, loss and non-compliance - Optimising existing resources and assets through training, disposal or redistribution.

  • Acceptance performance levels currently at 85% and you will work hard to improve this through analysis and management of stock movement and staff performance
  • Maintain customer SLA's and work with teams to identify improvements in process and additional staff training to ensure compliance; quality and H&S processes are all being adhered to.
  • Succession planning and development of key employees: this includes conducting Personal Development Plans
  • Adopting an open management style to build positive relationships to increase team performance and productivity
  • Commercial awareness: you'll be involved in budgetary forecasting and will be expected to provide cost savings to the customer
  • Managing team performance against agreed KPI targets and standards: this will include end of week/month KPI reports and analysis with the Site General Manager
  • Delivering operational plans for the new contract in line with budget: you will have operational accountability for both sites which includes Health & Safety

The scope of the role will broaden as the successful candidate settles into their role, and previous experience in a fast paced Distribution Centre is essential, as well as an in-depth knowledge of a complex Warehouse Management System.

In addition to a competitive salary you will receive a 10% bonus and 25 days leave.

Interviews will take place in January with anticipated start date of February 2019.
