Category Manager - IT Software

This well-known financial services client is going through an exciting period of change, and are looking to recruit a Category Manager with IT Category experience into their busy team…

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced, Technology Category Manager with demonstrable experience of managing IT software categories to join a fast paced, dynamic, blue chip organisation which is going through an exciting period of change.

You will be responsible for working in the IT Software category, with responsibility for areas of spend including both Server & Desktop application and related services.  You will lead on the selection and management of supplier partners and work collaboratively with Stakeholders from across different business units, to ensure best value for money for the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading tender processes (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs) to ensure the selection of the most appropriate supplier partners
• Deliver synergies and cost savings through collaborating with stakeholders
• Spend management, including regular tracking on Consultancy spend
• Negotiation of contractual terms and commercials with suppliers
• Delivery of savings targets – ensuring clear and auditable benefits tracking
• Influencing and establishing procurement practices
• Develop and manage relationships with suppliers, including contract and performance management

To be considered for this opportunity you must be able to demonstrate excellent experience and achievements across the wider Technology category.

You must have the ability to work with stakeholders across the business and the confidence to challenge senior stakeholders where required.  You should be analytical with the capability to drive insight through analysis of key management information and will be a self-starter with the ability to hit the ground running and identify and deliver opportunities.  This role can be based in either Southampton or London.
